Unconventional performances in unconventional venues

The Island Fringe Festival is an annual performing arts festival that unites artists and audiences in fun, exploratory environments. This year we welcome performers from across PEI, Ontario, and a show from New York City who will showcase comedy, dance, drama, improv, and more. Everything happens in downtown Charlottetown, allowing audiences to easily travel from one venue to the next and see all the action.

Tickets are $10 each per performance or $70 for an All Access Pass, which gives you access to all of our shows and Fringe After Dark Events.

We will accept  CASH at the door for individual shows (All Access Passes must be purchased in advance online).

Jinny and Jack VS The Thoughts in their Heads

Comedy, Dance
Chesterville, ON

Show length: 50 minutes | Show rating: PG-13

Location: Havenwood Dance Studio

Given their neurotic behaviours, Jinny and Jack aren’t the most popular of kids. They meet at an OCD support group where they develop a strong bond. As they confuse affection for romance, things take a turn for the awkward. In this whirlwind tale of self-acceptance and chosen family, the normal path was never on the radar anyways.

Chantalyne Beausoleil and Ryan Sutherland

Likehard: A Standup Comedy Show

Comedy, Solo performance
Charlottetown, PE

Show length: 45 minutes | Show rating: M

Location: The Carriage House at Beaconsfield

Tanya Nicolle is a small-town comedian with big feelings. She reflects on her life through goofy observations, and raw (and sometimes a little dark) stories – from growing up on a bizarre farm in rural Prince Edward Island, to now being an adult living with a mental illness. Join Tanya for a rollercoaster of jokes, and truly learn what it means to be a ‘Likehard’.

Written and Performed by Tanya Nicolle

Six Songs about Six Men I've Dated

Comedy, Drama, Musical
Charlottetown, PE

Show length: 60 minutes | Show rating: R

Location: City Cinema

A comedic exploration of dating apps, ambiguity, kink, red flags, and the search for love in middle age. In 2022, June Morrow moved to PEI after dating every age-appropriate man in Ontario.  Through original songs, stand-up, and re-enactments, she recounts six of her most memorable experiences.

Written by June Morrow.
Performed by June Morrow and Albert Arsenault.
Directed by Laurie Murphy.
Props by Bridget Driver.

The Prick

Drama, Comedy, One-Person Show
Charlottetown, PE

Show length: 60 minutes | Show rating: R

Location: The Carriage House at Beaconsfield

Guenevere thought it would be easy: girl meets cactus, girl loves cactus, cactus loves girl back. She never meant for it to go this far. In this darkly comedic new play, battle lines will be drawn, and blood will be shed. THE PRICK is a love story — you’ve been warned.

Featuring Melissa MacKenzie as Guenevere.
Written and Directed by Brynn Cutcliffe.

Rhythm Fusion: Dancers from the Rhythm Collective

Dance
Various locations, PE

Show length: 30 minutes | Show rating: G

Location: Havenwood Dance Studio

Step into a world of rhythm and tap! Watch as tap and step dancers experiment with the diverse sounds of percussion and rhythm found in life’s most ordinary moments. This collective showcases a talented lineup of up-and-coming Island dancers, experienced instructors, and special guests. Join us as we celebrate the music and rhythm that can be discovered in our everyday lives!

Concept and choreography: The Rhythm Collective Artists

Transpectrum

Drama, Comedy
Charlottetown, PE

Show length: 60 minutes | Show rating: M

Location: The Carriage House at Beaconsfield

Follow Riley Jayne Carson on a wonderful journey. This neurodivergent trans beauty queen explains how a love for Anne of Green Gables awakened her identity. And after over thirty years of self denial, it took another red headed Ann to help her rediscover her gender identity. Riley Jayne is a Jack (or should I say Jill) of multiple talents.  A background in theatre and very basic music allowed her to express her views, humour and attitude in a variety of forms ranging from stand-up comedy to drag.

Written and Performed by Riley Jane Carson

Whiskey Flicks LIVE!

Comedy, Improv, Film
New York, NY

Show length: 60 minutes | Show rating: PG-13

Location: City Cinema

An unscripted, booze-infused deep dive into film. For each performance, Daniel curates a one-time-only series of surprise movie clips, to which Michael reacts with an improvised mix of film criticism, social commentary, and personal narrative…with whiskey. Michael doesn’t know what Daniel’s going to play, Daniel doesn’t know what Michael’s going to say, and the audience is along for the ride. Hopefully you’ll remember why you fell in love with the movies.

Created and performed by Michael Niederman and Daniel McCoy
